Woodie Wulin 武麟 is the Founder and Director of the TCM TONE Institute (TTI), as well as an educator and practitioner devoted to the study and contemporary transmission of Chinese sonic cultivation. Born in China, he spent many years living in Australia and is now based in Thailand, where he continues to refine, teach, and share this tradition internationally.
As an officially recognized Chinese heritage inheritor of the “TCM Sound Therapy” project, Woodie has long been committed to translating the traditional Chinese holistic view of sound, resonance, Qi dynamics, and the Five Elements into a modern system that is understandable, teachable, and practical. His work integrates classical Chinese medicine perspectives, Daoist cultivation principles, and decades of hands-on experience, forming a clear and complete framework that learners from diverse cultural backgrounds can follow and apply.

Over the years, Woodie has focused on how ancient Chinese insights on sound—spanning classical music theory, rhythm and tonal relationships, and the living dynamics of Yin–Yang and the Five Elements—can be transformed into methods that serve modern practitioners. Through sustained teaching and research, he developed the TCM TONE Method, offering a structured pathway from personal foundations and self-practice, to professional practice, and ultimately to instructor-level training.
His teaching is known for clarity, precision, and accessibility. He not only shows students how to use sound, but guides them to understand why and how sound can regulate, balance, and direct the body–mind system. In his trainings, Woodie explains how sonic resonance interacts with breath, awareness, emotional states, and the flow of Qi—providing a practical framework that supports both personal cultivation and professional application.
Internationally, Woodie has taught and trained students across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential sound healing instructors in Asia and has built one of the region’s largest student communities. His teaching is rooted in classical Chinese wisdom, while presented in a contemporary, systematic way that meets the real needs of modern learners.

In the development of professional instruments and curricula, Woodie has collaborated with Meinl Sonic Energy to create the TCM series of instruments, including metal tuning fork sets, crystal singing bowls, and crystal tuning fork sets. These collaborations support more sound practitioners in learning and applying Sonopuncture—an ancient and profound TCM-rooted sound technique that uses vibration and sound to guide and regulate Qi.
At the TCM TONE Institute, Woodie continues to lead the development of the TCM TONE Method and its global education pathway, supporting the growth of practitioners, instructors, and international chapters. His vision is to build a clear, authentic, and sustainable system of Chinese sonic cultivation for the modern world—so that this time-honored cultural wisdom can be correctly understood, steadily transmitted, and continuously practiced in today’s context.

Woodie is the creator of multiple educational programs and publications in the field of Chinese sonic philosophy. His English titles include Sonopuncture and QiHarmony, which have remained global bestsellers for years. He has authored numerous Chinese-language books as well.
